Howard Terminal Oakland Ballpark Faced Super Long Process vs. Las Vegas And This Chart Shows Why
Howard Terminal Oakland Ballpark Faced Super Long Process vs. Las Vegas And This Chart Shows Why Mike Jacob and The East Oakland Stadium Alliance posted a wild chart as part of its mot recent newsletter. Then wrote "The A’s have made quite a splash in the news recently, with much of today’s baseball conversation concerning the team’s efforts to secure public dollars for a nine-acre Vegas ballpark. But many are still wondering what happens if John Fisher’s Nevada plans end up falling through? Despite some speculation about a possible A’s return to the negotiating table in Oakland, the entitlements process at Howard Terminal remains daunting. While the organization did check a handful of boxes before turning its attention exclusively to Las Vegas, this graphic demonstrates just how many obstacles still stand in the way of a ballpark development at Howard Terminal. By choosing to focus on a site which involves so many regulatory, financial and logistical hurdles, and outright dismissing the Coliseum as a redevelopment site despite its ease of access, open acreage and environmental clearance, the A’s made it virtually impossible to remain in Oakland." Well, it is really the City of Oakland's fault, because while the Coliseum did have fewer hoops, the City had no streamlined path. i will show what could have been done. Stay tuned.
