A man named Benjamin Cope, who was an "unmarked" store manager at the FoodMaxx in Hayward, CA stalked and ultimately assaulted Steven Johnson for no reason other than Cope's belief that Johnson was shoplifting. This even though Steven Johnson was in the store, had all of the items he wanted to buy clearly visible, and was not headed to the exit to leave the store.
