Over 10,000 People Signed Up For Today's Obama Rally

Yep. Organizers for Senator Barack Obama's rally at 3 PM today, told me that over 10,000 people signed up to attend his rally at the website of the campaign. If they all show up, it will be the largest gathering of its kind ever held at City Hall Plaza.

I'll be there and part of the video-blogger network the campaign has assembled.

Good event with a big turnout of maybe 15,000+. Well organized it appeared...red folks upfront, blue next followed by white tickets... Unfortunate that most(75%)could not see Obama give an ok speach (like the Selma performance left a high bar). A very diverse crowd but saw no,zip, nada hispanics. Do we have a problem here? Ok if you do not post this...keep the good work.

Actually, being "Hispanic" is such that one can be Black, White, or Asian. Check the Census.

There was spanish spoken in my midst, so I disagree there. It was an amazing turnout.

Yes, you are correct regarding my offhand view regarding what is 'hispanic'. It, as all such discriptions, should considered as varieties of cultural rather than racial differences. I do see that a recent SurveyUSA poll has a 33% lead by Clinton over Obama with hispanics statewide. http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReportEmail.aspx?g=45eb952e-8c29-4cc2-abf7-13ecd8bd870a

Work needs to be done to bridge the gap. It shall be an interesting year. regards, d.kucera
