Will Oakland sue the Golden State Warriors?
This 17-minute video was made based on interviews held on Tuesday May 22nd and at the Golden State Warriors Press Conference at San Francisco Piers 30-32 to announce plans to construct a $600 million basketball arena on that site, and to be opened by 2017.
On Tuesday, I talked to San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, NBA Commissioner David Stern, Warriors Owners Peter Guber and Joe Labob, Warriors Legend Al Attles, and in Oakland, Councilmember Ignacio De La Fuente, who's a key member of the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority.
The main line of questioning by me centered around possible litigation by the City Of Oakland to block the deal. Also, Ignacio De La Fuente reminds all that as of now, the Warriors still owe Oakland $105 million from the bond deal to build the arena in Oakland that was opened just 14 years ago in 1998.
The Golden State Warriors San Francisco deal will be all private money, and not even the NBA will contribute a dime to pay for it.
