SF Herb And Natural Food Company Recall

The San Francisco Herb & Natural Food Company, a firm that creates herb products, is embroiled in an unfortunate situation that's caused it to recall its food products.

On July 26th, a voluntary recall of 16 specific lots of San Francisco Herb products was done by the firm, and due to the potential contamination of filth.

San Francisco Herb is working with the California Department of Public Health and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to take corrective measures and address any health concerns.

The recalled products were primarily sold over the internet in the United States.

The following San Francisco Herb products with the specific lots numbers below are included in the recall:

The Lot # can be found on the back side of the 1 LB (16oz) packages of the above products on a small, white rectangular sticker located on the bottom half of the back side of the package. The name of the product is on the first line and the product number and Lot # is on the second line. Only products with the specific Product #s and Lot #s above are subject to the recall.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are urged to destroy them; if refund or replacement is desired, consumers should remove the white sticker found on the back of the package. Consumers with questions or who would like a refund or replacement may contact Dr. Fahimeh Niroomand of San Francisco Herb & Natural Foods Company at 510-770-1215, ex. 115.

Statement from San Francisco Herb & Natural Food Company:

“San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company is saddened by the recent discovery of a mouse infestation at its Fremont warehouse. Since its discovery, and in full cooperation with the regulatory authorities, the company has taken immediate steps to isolate and remedy the problem.

“The company has been under an embargo since July 11th that has ensured that no impacted goods were shipped. Today, we are working with the California Department of Health and other authorities to issue a voluntary recall notice within the next 24 hours regarding products that may be impacted by the situation.

“San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company has enjoyed 40 years of providing quality herbs, spices and teas to wholesale and specialty producers. We hold ourselves to a high standard. Unfortunately we believed this problem was under control, but it unexpectedly grew into a larger issue. We apologize to our loyal customers and fans and will fully refund any products that have been impacted.”

Cal Women's Rowing Team member Jill Costello passed away from complications due to lung cancer on June 24th 2010 and at the age of 21. Oakland Mayor's Race Forum first take. (Which means, there's going to be more of these posts on last night, because a lot was happening.) This just in: The Oakland Tribune's out of touch with Oakland. A number of attendees of the 450 estimated said they learned of the Oakland League Of Women Voters via "the newspaper." All of the people who made that statement were over 50 years old. Still, the forum, which attracted every candidate except Dr. Terrance Candell, was a success. The auditorium at 300 Lakeside Drive seats 380 people, so if you do the math, it was about 70 over capacity. The crowd was a happy mix of supporters of candidates and long-time observers of the Oakland political scene. The one complaint they had was there wasn't enough time to hear what the candidates were about. That wasn't because there were too many candidates, but due to the format.
