The Oakland A's; Thanks For Great 2014! A video-blog post for Oakland Focus IFTTT

Guy Houston was picked to be the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum JPA Executive Director by Oakland Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan and not Oakland Councilmember Larry Reid as reported before. That decision to hire Mr. Houston, the former Dublin Mayor who was sued for bilking senior citizens in a civil lawsuit, is not set in stone. It can be undone by October 17th. Reportedly Kaplan made the choice but Reid abstained. For the County of Alameda, Supervisor Scott Haggerty was not there and Nate Miley abstained. A video-blog post for Oakland Focus IFTTT

The Secret Service failing to protect President Obama (and thankfully that did not lead to harm) combined with the first case of The Ebola Virus in America is horrifying. It spells a near end to American political and social stability. The Oakland Coliseum Joint Powers Authority picked former Dublin Mayor Guy Houston over two noted sports executives for the role of Coliseum JPA Executive Director. Mark Hart, the Director of Business Of The Pittsburgh Steelers, and Scott McKibben, the Commissioner of The A11 Football League and former Rose Bowl President, were both not selected over Houston. Meanwhile this space revealed that Houston was sued and settled in a civil case where he was accused of defrauding seniors out of over $300,000. This blogger was told that Oakland Councilmember Larry Reid was the person on the JPA who, for some reason, asked for Houston to be considered. I called Larry for confirmation of that news but have not yet heard back from him. The Coliseum JPA Decision to hire Houston is not official until October 17th.
