Sen Jeff Flake Elevator Video During Kavanaugh Hearings Shows Social Media Power - Video

Sen Jeff Flake Elevator Video During Kavanaugh Hearings Shows Social Media Power In the days before YouTube, and the rise of vlogs and social media platforms, a senator getting on an elevator as protestors yelled at him would have been noted without conversation in a news broadcast. But, today, that same event can have earth-moving consequences. Just ask Arizona Senator Jeff Flake, who was confronted by two sexual assault survivors during the Kavanaugh Hearings, and after he said he was going to vote for Brett Kavanaugh to be the next Supreme Court Justice. That, after the intense and unforgettable testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who pointedly said Kavanaugh was the man who assaulted her 36 years ago. By contrast, Kavanaugh's angry, combative, crying, and unhinged testimony did him no favors with anyone save those who wanted to see him get mad, when a calm reserve would have been a better approach. But I digress. The video of the elevator encounter took a micro moment, and made it huge. It caused Flake to change his mind and ask for an FBI Investigation before a vote was taken. It also marked a watershed moment in media - the day media and social media were officially one. Stay tuned.
