Oakland Raiders Las Vegas Stadium NFL Opening Date October 2020. - Video
Las Vegas Stadium NFL Opening Date October 2020? Yes! This started because my friend Rick Velotta of the Las Vegas Review Journal insisted on placing a bet with me that the Oakland Raiders' Las Vegas Stadium would be open for NFL use for the 2020 Season. I stated that he was wrong because 1) the Las Vegas Stadium Authority kept moving the stadium completion date back from what was June 2020, to what is now "substantial completion" by July 31, 2020, plus there's a three-month-move-in-period. Velotta didn't understand the McCarthy construction schedule, and so misunderstood the areas marked "construction" as move in. So, I found the actual document that points to the planned three-month-move-in-period that happens after the stadium construction is finished. Velotta and others don't understand that there are two time periods: the stadium construction period, and the move-in-period. The move-in-period is just that, where all of the tenants, Raiders, UNLV, Legends, etc, move into the stadium much as you would move in to a newly built home after it was finished and ready for occupancy. For some reason, the Oakland Raiders are really pushing this idea that the stadium will be ready for a full 2020 NFL Season. The reality, according to the Las Vegas Stadium Authority's own documents, is that it's not going to be able to host the Raiders for the entire 2020 NFL Stadium. So, the Raiders have, really, two seasons to play in the logical place, the Oakland Coliseum, before Las Vegas. And so begins this livestream. Please watch.
