Planned Whole Foods Market 5110 Telegraph Oakland Seeks Public CommentAn urban planning consultant named Dwayne J. Kennedy and of a firm called "City Shapers" wrote a letter to Oaklanders in the Nextdoor social media platform. Mr. Kennedy reported that he represented Whole Foods Markets, who is proposing a 30,061 square foot grocery store on the ground floor of the new and unfinished mixed-use building located at 5110 Telegraph in Oakland. He reports that a "conditional use permit" application has been filed with the City Of Oakland Planning and Zoning Department (Yes, the same one that called the police on a harmless former Oakland politician named Wilson Riles and for being a big, smart, black guy). Mr. Kennedy writes that you can review the application numbered PLN18-531 on the 2nd Floor of 250 Frank Ogawa Plaza, the City Administration Building next to Oakland City Hall, which is at 1 Frank Ogawa Plaza. He says if you have questions, send an email to him at djkennedy@cityshapers.com by January 15, 2020. The overall project is developed by an organization called RAD URBAN. The 210-apartment unit and retail complex is across the street from Kingfish Bar, and where Telegraph Avenue and 51st Avenue meet. The website is https://ift.tt/1yFFh9r Stay tuned.
