Las Vegas Stadium / Allegiant Stadium Seat Installations Start But Too Soon With The Roof Problem? - Video
Las Vegas Stadium / Allegiant Stadium Seat Installations Start But Too Soon With The Roof Problem? Las Vegas Stadium's getting seats, already. Las Vegas Stadium / Allegiant Stadium hit a milestone that is reflective of the desire to fast-track the construction of this new nfl home for the Las Vegas Raiders of Oakland: installing some of the 65,000 seats in the facility. This entails some risk, given the problems with the incomplete cable-net roof structure and the compression ring system that the roof trusses are attached to. The seats that are in place, are positioned at the top-most part of the stadium, closest to the very part of Las Vegas Stadium that's caused the biggest problem: the roof area. But the reason the builders elected to start putting in seats at the rim of the facility is because they will be shielded by the overhanging truss system. That said, it seems questionable to start putting in seats given the roof problems that, in themselves, were caused by fast-tracking construction. As of the date of this writing, not even SoFi Stadium has seats installed in it's upper deck area, given the work that still needs to be done up there. And compared with Las Vegas Stadium / Allegiant Stadium, it's clear So Fi Stadium is truly set to open this year: Taylor Swift will be the first female singer to open in an NFL Stadium with her July 25th concert date in Inglewood. And then Kenny Chesney's tour starts at So Fi Stadium August 1st. What does Las Vegas Stadium / Allegiant Stadium have that's officially set for any date, without possibility of shifting venues? Nothing. And there's a reason for that: Las Vegas Stadium / Allegiant Stadium is not yet ready. Stay tuned.
