Duygu Balan SF Threapist Interview On Mommy Issues And Healthy Personal Development

Duygu Balan, SF Threapist Interview On Mommy Issues And Healthy Personal Development
Duygu Balan, SF Threapist Interview On Mommy Issues And Healthy Personal Development My guest San Francisco Bay Area Therapist Duygu Balan says there's a noticeable surge in patients seeking help with "mommy issues.” Mommy issues refer to the challenges arising from an insecure or unhealthy relationship with one's mother or another influential female figure during childhood, leading to issues with self-image, trust, and adult relationships. Mothers play a vital role in a child's development, as babies form their first attachments with them. Disruptions or changes in this crucial dynamic can have lasting effects on a child's well-being and their ability to form relationships. Mommy issues stem from John Bowlby's attachment theory, where a secure bond with a primary caregiver, usually the mother, affects a person's ability to relate and form intimate relationships in adulthood. Various types of unhealthy parent-child dynamics contribute to mommy issues, such as covert incest (enmeshment), controlling behavior, emotional abuse, child abuse, parentification, and narcissistic abuse. Each of these dynamics impacts a child's development and their ability to form relationships, perpetuating mommy issues into adulthood. In light of the growing prevalence of mommy issues and the need for effective support, I would like to introduce you to Duygu Balan, LPCC, a highly regarded psychotherapist specializing in guiding individuals through life transitions and facilitating the healing process from childhood neglect. With her extensive expertise and evidence-based strategies, Duygu Balan empowers individuals to overcome the lasting effects of mommy issues, enabling them to build a stronger foundation for a healthier and more resilient future. Oakland Mayor's Race: LWV Forum Draws Oakland's Older Folks

Oakland Mayor's Race Forum first take. (Which means, there's going to be more of these posts on last night, because a lot was happening.) This just in: The Oakland Tribune's out of touch with Oakland. A number of attendees of the 450 estimated said they learned of the Oakland League Of Women Voters via "the newspaper." All of the people who made that statement were over 50 years old. Still, the forum, which attracted every candidate except Dr. Terrance Candell, was a success. The auditorium at 300 Lakeside Drive seats 380 people, so if you do the math, it was about 70 over capacity. The crowd was a happy mix of supporters of candidates and long-time observers of the Oakland political scene. The one complaint they had was there wasn't enough time to hear what the candidates were about. That wasn't because there were too many candidates, but due to the format. Either Oakland Tribune Editor Martin Reynolds or the League of Women Voter
