Andy Dolich And Zennie Abraham Talk Oakland A's Las Vegas Ballpark, WNBA SF / Oakland News, AASEG
Andy Dolich And Zennie Abraham Talk Oakland A's Las Vegas Ballpark, WNBA SF / Oakland News, AASEG This is a special livestream for me because former Oakland A's executive ( as well as with the SF 49ers, Memphis Grizzlies) and current Commissioner-FCB Fan Controlled Baseball and friend Andy Dolich called me to catch up and offered an apology for leaving me out of his book "Goodbye Oakland". My 37 years of experience in working for Oakland, heading the Oakland Super Bowl Bid Effort, and then writing about and still impacting Oakland's sports economic development, including giving Dave Kaval the idea to use enhanced infrastructure financing district legislation, and spearheading an EIFD for the Oakland Coliseum JPA, have given me a unique perspective on why Oakland has lost its sports teams. And how it can rebuild a better sports economic development program. Moreover, my story is complementary to the one Andy's telling. So, we're going to talk about that, then turn to news commentary. Where are the A's with the Las Vegas move in Andy's view? And what about the WNBA rumor that is yet unconfirmed by Joe Lacob? Will he bring a WNBA team to San Francisco but headquarter it in Oakland? Does that not damage the AASEG's objective? And Andy and I will talk about the wave of sports economic development projects around the country and consider if California need to be better organized to address the trend? Stay tuned.
