Was Aaron Rogers Season-Ending Injury Also The End Of His Career? Is Jameis Winston Jets Answer?
Was Aaron Rogers Season-Ending Injury Also The End Of His Career? Is Jameis Winston Jets Answer? Well, after just four snaps, Aaron Rogers career has taken a turn: he's out for the NFL Season. That makes the 14th injury he's had in his NFL career, and the fifth injury he has had in three years, after going clean between 2018 and 2021. So, age is taking its toll. Rogers is 39 years old. and while Tom Brady played until he was 45, not everyone approached training like he did, or had the money to do it. It's not clear that the TB12 Method is part of Rogers approach. Here's his history of injuries: Nov 19, 2006 NFL Pedal Foot Fracture Rodgers was placed on IR after suffering a foot fracture. Oct 10, 2010 NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 Rodgers didn't miss a game following his Week 5 concussion. Dec 12, 2010 NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 Rodgers missed 1 game with his 2nd concussion of 2010. Nov 4, 2013 NFL Shoulder Clavicle Fracture Rodgers' injury forced him to miss the next 7 games. Dec 21, 2014 NFL Leg Calf Tear Rodgers reportedly had a "slight" tear in his calf. Dec 11, 2016 NFL Leg Calf Strain Rodgers' injury wasn't considered serious. Oct 15, 2017 NFL Shoulder Clavicle Fracture Rodgers returned for 1 game before sitting out the final 2 weeks. Dec 30, 2018 NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 Rodgers departed in the 2nd quarter and never returned. Sep 9, 2018 NFL Knee MCL Sprain Grade 2 Rodgers was carted off but later returned vs. Chicago. He dealt with a sprain and a bone bruise for most of the season. Nov 13, 2021 NFL Pedal Toe Fracture Rodgers fractured his pinky toe during the ramp-up exercise period as he worked toward gaining medical clearance to play in the Packers' Week 10 game vs. Seattle. The injury continued to linger throughout the season Oct 9, 2022 Non-NFL Hand Thumb Fracture Rodgers played through the injury. No surgery was required. Nov 27, 2022 NFL Chest Rib Bruise Rodgers returned for Week 13. May 23, 2023 NFL Leg Calf Strain Rodgers sustained the minor injury at OTAs. Sep 11, 2023 NFL Pedal Achilles Tear Grade 3 Rodgers reportedly suffered an Achilles injury in Week 1 vs. the Bills. And the last injury has taken him out of his starting role as the NY Jets Quarterback and leaves it to Zack Wilson. In a wild way, perhaps the Jets needed to have just focused on Zack and given him a chance rather than giving up on him so quickly? Or, considering how poorly he played, how about bringing in Jameis Winston from the New Orleans Saints. Yes, Jameis loves New Orleans, but the Jets could present the kind of stage he would shine on - if the Jets approach him. And should Rogers just retire? What do you think? Achilles injury takes six to nine months to recover from - and then he's 40. The odds of him returning are not good, not that it's impossible. But the trajectory of injuries suggests that it is time for him to call it quits. Stay tuned.

Oakland Mayor's Race: LWV Forum Draws Oakland's Older Folks

Oakland Mayor's Race Forum first take. (Which means, there's going to be more of these posts on last night, because a lot was happening.) This just in: The Oakland Tribune's out of touch with Oakland. A number of attendees of the 450 estimated said they learned of the Oakland League Of Women Voters via "the newspaper." All of the people who made that statement were over 50 years old. Still, the forum, which attracted every candidate except Dr. Terrance Candell, was a success. The auditorium at 300 Lakeside Drive seats 380 people, so if you do the math, it was about 70 over capacity. The crowd was a happy mix of supporters of candidates and long-time observers of the Oakland political scene. The one complaint they had was there wasn't enough time to hear what the candidates were about. That wasn't because there were too many candidates, but due to the format. Either Oakland Tribune Editor Martin Reynolds or the League of Women Voter
