The Oakland A's Aren't Leaving Las Vegas Over An Eight-Game World Tour Stop The Fake News

The Oakland A's Aren't Leaving Las Vegas Over An Eight-Game World Tour Stop The Fake News There's an idea that the Oakland A's are violating the not-yet approved non-relocation agreement over an idea to have the baseball team play up to eight games overseas. While 10 percent of the 81 home game schedule may seem like a good chunk, is not as bad as it reads. The reasons are two fold: the eight game marketing trip does not mean the sports and entertainment district is or will be closed to visitors. The Senate Bill One allows for development outside the ballpark that is next to it, and between the proposed new hotel and the ballpark. That is the kind of development that is in Atlanta and Arlington, Texas, to name two of many examples. Also, that makes sure there will be revenue generated by the sports and entertainment district year-round. The non-relocation agreement is just that. It does not call for no-outside trips. It simply means the franchise's is not going to leave the venue over a 30 year period (in this case). It means that the bulk of revenue generated by the club will be while playing in the ballpark and not somewhere else.
