Steven Johnson Talks About Being Victim Of Shopping While Black at FoodMaxx Hayward, CA

Steven Johnson Talks About Being Victim Of Shopping While Black at FoodMaxx Hayward, CA On April 13th, 2024, after 10:08 AM PDT, Steven Johnson went to the local FoodMaxx in Hayward, CA. What happened to him next was a classic case of "Shopping While Black". A man named Benjamin Cope, who was an "unmarked" store manager at the FoodMaxx in Hayward, CA stalked and ultimately assaulted Steven Johnson for no reason other than Cope's belief that Johnson was shoplifting. This even though Steven Johnson was in the store, had all of the items he wanted to buy clearly visible, and was not headed to the exit to leave the store. Steven Johnson was then pushed and attacked by Benjamin Cope, who as the video will show, did not want him to finish shopping; he wanted him to leave. Benjamin Cope's behavior is classic racism. Benjamin Cope had four other workers jump Steven Johnson from behind, push him to the ground, beat him and call him racist names, and hold him until the Hayward Police Officer arrived. Steven Johnson was then perped walked out of the FoodMaxx Hayward, CA store.
